Saint John's School of the Arts

Saint John's-Newberry is privileged to offer a School of the Arts as one of its music and arts ministries. The philosophy and purpose of the school is to offer the children, youth and adults of the Greater Williamsport area a school devoted to excellent training in music and the fine arts, in an atmosphere and environment supporting the Christian ethic. By offering a quality School of the Arts with high instructional standards, we have the opportunity to minister to those in the community who would otherwise not be exposed to the Christian witness.
Goals of the School are:
  • to offer a quality music and fine arts education to people of all ages
  • to provide opportunities for performance experience
  • to promote and strengthen the music and fine arts at Saint John's-Newberry United Methodist Church
  • to minister to others outside the church faith community
Areas of individual instruction are: art, brass and woodwind instruments, organ, piano and voice.
Areas of group instruction: art, ballroom dance, ballet and modern dance, and drama/theatre arts.
The School of the Arts is a Member of the National Guild for Community Arts Education.
